A Seaside Adventure

When I say seaside adventure, we actually live there so really it might sound like nothing special, but it is!

We don’t go as often as we could because Hugo doesn’t really like the beach!

Hugo doesn’t really like the beach mainly because there aren’t any trees, which means there’s nothing to wee on and we all know that a walkies without 87 wee breaks isn’t really a walkies at all for Hugo!

Posing for photos (posing for treats more like!)

However Holly loves the beach and as it was Holly’s birthday we went to the beach!

Holly gets anxious around too many people or other dogs so when we want to let her off her lead and let her have a good run around and really enjoy herself we go to the beach when the tide’s out. There’s so much space that even if another dog approaches there’s enough time for her excellent recall to kick in and we can get her lead back on before she has time to get even remotely anxious!

Hiding her cute pink nose with her cute pink tongue!

There are two main beaches divided by a pier where dogs are only allowed in the winter and then a smaller beach where dogs can go all year round! We had a lovely long run on the main beach and then a walk down the smaller beach where Holly’s ‘stay close’ skills were tested to the extreme as there were lots of other dogs! We met some people who loved pugs and some dogs who didn’t, a pug’s snorting/breathing can be mistaken for growling by some dogs. Then we paddled in the sea and searched for sea shells (that bit was mainly me!) and then went home for cake and a long snooze!

Happy birthday Holly!

Holly loves paddling in the sea! Hugo not so much! I missed them in the water here but caught their funny expressions afterwards!
