This book was recommended to me and I must admit at first I thought ‘who needs a book about tidying?’ But guess what, I’ve barely been able to put it down since it was delivered!
I started out following a few organising accounts on Instagram and saw how the tips I picked up really worked.
But the book isn’t primarily about organising, more about decluttering and then finding a place for the things you have left, the things you love, and then organising those things.
The one thing I really loved about this book is that I felt like I’d been given permission to throw things away! (or Ebay them!) I had drawers with clothes thrown in that I didn’t open because they were such a mess and now I smile when I open them because they look and smell wonderful!
Some reviews on this book want the author to just ‘get to the point’ but it’s not a quick fix, there are no ‘do this and everything will be tidy’ tips. It’s not about hiding the mess in storage units! You have to follow the process, in the right order, and I think you really have to want to ‘tidy’ for this to work!
Everything about this book just felt right to me and I’m really enjoying slowly putting my house in order!
