4 Baby Bedtime Books About Dogs

Teddy is only 3 months old right now but we already read to him! He loves his bedtime story and enjoys looking at the pictures before his afternoon nap too!

These are our favourites.

That’s Not My Puppy by Fiona Watt & Rachel Wells

A lovely touchy-feely book that Teddy will still enjoy when he’s a toddler and beyond. For now it has great pictures with bold colours and a short ‘story’ we can read before nap time.

Spot Loves His Daddy by Eric Hill

A gift from Santa to Teddy and his daddy! A beautiful baby book about Spot and his dad.

The Detective Dog by Julia Donaldson (author) Sara Ogilvie (Illustrator)

This is our most recent addition and maybe not a baby book, although it is board. The book has more of a complex story and is a little longer than our other baby books. Nell the Detective Dog listens to children reading at a school and one day discovers all the books have disappeared. The story takes you along with Nell to find the missing books. It’s written in rhyme and Teddy seems to love that. A brilliant book that will see us through at least the next five years!

The Pug Who Ate the World by Tom Cote (author) and Gemma Gene (Illustrator)

Of course there had to be pug book in our favourites list and this one doesn’t disappoint! Bunky is a hungry pug who wants to travel the world sampling food from different countries. We particularly loved what he wanted to eat in England! He’s so hungry that he decides he wants to eat the world but Tom doesn’t think that’s a good idea! We love this book because it describes exactly how our two pugs are, sleepy, in need of constant cuddles and always hungry!

We love books about dogs so let us know of any we’re missing out on in the comments below!
