Let Them Eat Cake!

It’s Holly’s birthday soon!

In human years she’s going to be 21 so we’re making quite a big deal of it! In dog years she’ll be 3! There’s so much going on that we’re having to spread it out! First of all we made a birthday cake! Well I made it and they ate it! Yes a birthday cake for a dog!

You can buy them but it was much more fun to make it! Plus I know exactly what went in to this, minced lamb, ground suflower seeds, fresh duck eggs and some other yummy stuff! The ‘frosting’ is cream cheese which they loved of course! And those pretty little bone biscuits around the edge, what a treat! You can find the recipe for the cake and for the biscuits in the utterly brilliant book Dinner for Dogs by Henrietta Morrison of Lily’s Kitchen and you can get the cute little bone cutter here!

This was one of the only photos I managed to get before my hard work was thoroughly enjoyed! Happy birthday Holly!

This looks great, however mine would not look like that, so buy it if you’re crap, make it if you can make something perfect like yours!! haha x

Would you believe I’m useless at cooking for humans! Hugo and Holly absolutely loved the cake and weren’t bothered one bit about how it looked, I don’t think it got chance for a second glance though! But yes for those not so confident or maybe don’t have time but still want to treat them then absolutely no reason not buy! The dog wins either way! ? xo

Those tuna treat bone biscuits are great on their own too! Quick, easy and absolutely delicious (so I’m told by Hugo and Holly!) love & pug hugs xo
